- Home birth? Birth Centre? Hospital? Wherever you plan to give birth, talking about it can help you to prepare for a positive birth experience.
- Come along to a meeting:
- We'd love to hear from you!
- Send us your questions
- Useful birth resources
Our next meeting will be held on {{NextMeetingDate.Date}} from {{NextMeetingDate.TimeFrom}} until {{NextMeetingDate.TimeTo}}.
For directions, please see
{{NextMeetingDate.Directions}}
There will be the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about homebirth and hear from experienced homebirthers!
We will have plenty of time for chat and everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing new and familiar faces and we welcome birth stories and shared experiences.
The group is run by volunteers and we welcome donations towards room hire and refreshments. We suggest a contribution of £3 per person, or whatever you are able to give.
We hope to see you there!
Our Homebirth support group is open to all parents who are thinking about planning a home birth, whether you are undecided and wanting to explore your birth choices
or already feeling that home birth is for you.
Exeter Homebirth Group do not condone or encourage unassisted birth or freebirthing. We believe in maintaining the safety of mother and baby at all times. We encourage
women and their families to make informed decisions and we respect their decisions.
We welcome birth stories at Homebirth Groups and we don't feel it is appropriate to censor their telling. We feel it is as important to share stories where homebirths
were not achieved, as when they are, as this is the reality. What we hope to hear are stories where women have positive experiences, where they felt well supported and felt involved in any decision-making. When women and their families do not feel they have had a positive experience we aim to signpost them to appropriate professionals.
The following listing shows the date, time and venue for our forthcoming meetings. If you require any further information please contact us using the
contact us page.
We have inflatable birth pools available for hire. They are all professional pools by Birth Pool In a Box/The Good Birth Company and you can find more
information and the dimensions of pools on their website. We have regular and mini pools available for hire. We charge £30 hire for the pool and
inflate/deflate pump to cover our costs, but you will also need to buy a sterile liner from The Good Birth Company. We have a discount code which you are
welcome to use for 10% off the liner and anything else you might want from
The Good Birth Company.
Please contact Alice Chapman at
Info@alicechapman.co.uk to discuss birth pool hire, or visit our
facebook group to chat about the benefits of birthing in water!
If you are interested in proceeding with a pool booking please download and complete the

Clare Lowing set up Exeter Home birth Group in 2010, alongside Claire Arnold. She was inspired to create the group after the peaceful birth of her second daughter at home
in East Devon. Gathering like-minded practitioners and professionals together, she aimed to create a space for women and their families thinking about birthing at home to share information
and support one another.
Clare loves supporting women and their families from pregnancy to parenthood and is a Newborn Mothers Postpartum Doula, Baby Massage Instructor, Childbirth Educator (NCT) and Breastfeeding
Peer Supporter, working in Exeter and East Devon. Even though her daughters are now in their teens she has been known to whip a muslin out of her bag when necessary!
Contact Clare on birthbabyparent@gmail.com or visit www.birthbabyparent.com.
Alice Chapman is a yoga teacher specialising in women’s health yoga therapy. Having had two beautiful, empowering homebirths herself she is a dedicated

Fran Mosco started coming to the Homebirth group when she was pregnant with her first child in 2016 and has been coming back ever since. She felt the group
was a really safe space to be able to gather information, listen to others' experiences and ask all those questions you think nobody else is thinking (but they probably are!).
This gave her & her husband the confidence to plan, and have, their baby at home. Now she helps host the group, which feels like an absolute privilege.

and taught as an antenatal teacher for the NCT for many years during which time she had her second baby. Now both registered homeopath and hypnotherapist Libby has worked
with many women in both pregnancy and labour. She also has three grandchildren. Libby is passionate about supporting women in choosing the best place for them to give
